Why do women always get all the attention? June is Men’s Health Month, it is time to wear blue and show our support!
Let’s be candid… men do not exactly have the best track record of keeping up with their health. We need to show the men in our lives that we care about them by heightening the awareness of preventable health problems and to encourage early detection and treatment of disease among men and boys.
Women: What does this mean to you? Whether you are a wife, a mother, a sister, a grandmother or a special friend, it is time to take a pledge to declare ourselves as motivators, strong women advocating for the health of the men in our lives. It is time to teach men how to be proactive versus reactive.
Men: Be prepared for the women in your life to stand up for your health. You may call it nagging, but us women have another term for it, love. To be an active father, a caring grandfather, a devoted husband or smart businessman… the first step is good health. That is why one of our favorite phrases here at TLC is “health is the greatest wealth there is”. Your health needs to be your priority. Yes, that is right, clear your schedule so you are available to go to the doctor and attend that appointment!
Here at TLC, we are motivators for our members. Maintaining your health is complicated and you need support. Whether it be an alert to for your yearly physical, a reminder for preventive screenings, second opinions, review of recent test results to make sure no errors exist, or if you have health and wellness questions, TLC is the “quarterback” to your healthcare.
So enough with the excuses men… like dominoes, if you don’t take care of your health, everything can fall apart.
